Studio Fact Sheet

Raquel Guardia — Founder & Principal
Founder Biography
Raquel Guardia is the founder and principal of Guardia Designs, a luxury interior design studio operating across Arizona and Mexico City. Her work blends four influences — the modernism of Mexico and the restraint of the Arizona desert — under a single design language she calls Tierra Curada, expressed through her signature AriMexico™ sensibility — modern Mexican warmth held against Arizona desert minimalism, defined by clean lines, handcrafted material, abundant light, and warm desert-neutral restraint.
Her eye was formed along a geographic corridor connecting the artisan workshops of Oaxaca and Chihuahua — where hand-carved mesquite and raw volcanic stone are treated as architectural elements — with the mineral restraint of the Sonoran Desert, where adobe, sandstone, and raw clay have shaped a design language of honest material. From this she designs rooms that feel collected rather than decorated, for clients who acquire taste over years, not seasons.
Guardia Designs takes on a select number of full commissions each year, delivering every piece white glove — artisan-packed at source, climate-controlled in transit, and placed in context in the home. The studio also produces custom-commissioned wallpaper and bespoke textiles, available to a private client list.
