El Proceso

How a project unfolds

Every engagement follows the same arc — from honest conversation to a room that feels like you.

01

The Conversation

We start with a call — no slides, no pitch deck. I want to understand how you actually live: what you cook, who comes over, what you've always wanted a room to feel like.

02

The Read

I look at your space — photos, video walkthrough, or in person — and form a point of view. Not a mood board. A real opinion about what this room wants to be.

03

The Palette & Material Direction

Before any object is chosen, we agree on the bones: the palette, the material vocabulary, the tension between warmth and restraint that defines Tierra Curada.

04

The Render

For full-room projects, I build photorealistic 3D renders so you can see exactly where things are going before committing. No surprises.

05

The Object List

A curated, sourced, linked list of every object in the room — organized by priority and budget tier. Pulled from makers I've worked with for years.

06

The Handoff

You receive a complete implementation deck: renders, material specs, object list, installation notes. I stay available through the final reveal.

Common Questions

Before you reach out

Do you work remotely?

Yes — the majority of my projects are done remotely via video walkthrough, detailed photography, and 3D renders. I work with clients across Mexico City, Arizona, and beyond.

What does "Tierra Curada" actually mean?

It's the design language I coined: the modernism of Mexico and the restraint of the Arizona desert — held together by a single rule. Everything earns its place. Clean lines, handcrafted material, abundant light, and a bold plane of color when the room asks for it.

Can I buy objects without a full consultation?

Absolutely — the shop is open to approved members at any time. But if you want a curated edit selected specifically for your space, The Mercado Edit service is designed exactly for that.

How far in advance should I book?

Full Vision projects book 3–5 weeks in advance. Design Immersion sessions usually have availability within 2 weeks. Discovery calls can often happen within a few days.

What's the typical timeline for a full design project?

A Full Vision project takes 4–6 weeks from initial discovery call to final presentation deck: conversation (1 week), space assessment and palette direction (1 week), 3D rendering and revisions (2–3 weeks), and final sourcing list (1 week). You can begin installing pieces immediately after the handoff.

What are typical budget ranges?

A Design Immersion is $450. Full Vision projects range from $3,200 to $12,000+ depending on scope — this covers design and consulting fees only, not objects and materials. Material budgets are entirely flexible; I can design a room for $5,000 or $50,000+ in objects. We discuss budget openly at the Discovery Call.

What is AriMexico™?

AriMexico™ is our signature design sensibility — a blend of modern Mexican warmth and Arizona desert minimalism. It shows up as warm desert-neutral palettes, natural stone, limewash plaster, mesquite and oak, hand-fired clay, and linen; sculptural simplicity; filtered courtyard light; and understated luxury rather than ornate luxury. It is a way of tuning a room, not a style we apply.

Do you offer landscape and outdoor design?

Yes. We design courtyards, patios, and desert gardens with the same material-first restraint as our interiors — travertine, plaster, native plantings, and filtered shade. Landscape direction is available as part of a Full Vision engagement or as a standalone scope.

Do you offer e-design or remote design services?

Yes. Most projects run remotely through video walkthroughs, detailed photography, and photorealistic 3D renders. E-design is available for clients anywhere in the United States and Mexico, with the same Tierra Curada and AriMexico™ point of view applied to your space.

Can you guide a renovation?

Yes. For renovations we provide material and finish direction, fixture and material specifications, and an implementation plan — so your contractor builds to a clear, coherent design intent rather than guessing. Renovation guidance is layered onto a Design Immersion or Full Vision.

What areas do you serve?

We work in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona; Mexico City (Polanco and the colonias); and remotely across the United States and Mexico. Local site visits are available in Phoenix and Mexico City; everywhere else is handled remotely with the same level of care.
