Curated interior with custom parota furniture and Oaxacan textiles
Guardia Designs — The Process

From the workshop
to your door.

A meticulous curation journey — from artisan family studios in Oaxaca and the Sonoran corridor to white-glove installation in your home. Nothing is sourced twice the same way.

Our Philosophy

"We do not buy objects and resell them. We travel to find the specific piece that belongs in the specific room — and we deliver it as though it has always been there."

Every commission is different. Every sourcing trip is different. The only constant is the standard we hold for provenance, craft, and the care we take to get every piece from its maker into your home without compromise.

The Initial Conversation

Every project begins with a single conversation — your space, your life, your objects. Raquel listens for what you already love, then maps the gaps. From there she builds a sourcing brief unique to your commission.

Duration: 1–2 weeks
Mexico · Arizona

The Sourcing Journey

Raquel travels to artisan workshops and family studios across Oaxaca, Chihuahua, and the Sonoran corridor — identifying pieces that carry irreplaceable craft. Nothing is selected from a catalog. Every object is handled, tested, and documented at source.

The Studio

Curation & Composition

Back in the studio, each sourced piece is photographed, catalogued, and placed into your room layout digitally. Raquel composes the room as an editor composes a spread — each object in dialogue with the next.

Duration: 1–2 weeks
In Transit

Artisan-Packed & Climate-Controlled

Every piece is wrapped by the artisan who made it, crated to museum standards, and shipped in climate-controlled transit. No freight forwarder. No pallet drops. Every object is treated as the irreplaceable thing it is.

Your Home

White-Glove Installation

Raquel and her installation team arrive on site. Furniture is placed, textiles are hung, dishware is arranged. Nothing is left boxed at your door. You see your room complete for the first time — exactly as designed.

Final day
White-Glove Delivery

Nothing arrives
at your door boxed.

Every object in your commission travels from its maker's hands to your walls via a carefully managed chain of custody. We handle international customs, climate-controlled freight, and final in-home placement so that the first time you see your room, it is completely finished.

This is not a service we offer as an add-on. It is the only way we deliver. We believe an object placed carelessly is an object diminished.
